STAR Children’s Bereavement Services offers Wonder Box, a free program for Upper Peninsula children and teens ages 8–17 who have experienced the death of a loved one. Each monthly box, sent November through May, includes grief activities, crafts, and coping tools and other resources to support children in managing their grief. The program is limited to 30 participants per year and costs $20 per box on average. Community members are encouraged to donate to sponsor a child’s Wonder Box journey, covering materials, shipping or the full program, which helps keep this vital support free for every child who needs it.

Donations will support efforts to open the museum, which will provide a safe, engaging space for children and families across Chippewa, Luce and Mackinac counties. Our programs will offer family workshops, hands-on exhibits and opportunities for growth that ripple through our local economy and tourism industry.
