Simple Kindness for Youth (SKY)
Simple Kindness for Youth helps young people build and maintain their self-esteem by providing small grants that cover basic needs, enrichment activities and opportunities for community involvement. This GivingTuesday, SKY aims to raise $20,000 to expand support for local youth. The organization is spreading the word through newsletters, social media and television interviews. Community members are encouraged to give and help more young people access the resources they need to learn, grow and thrive.
Right Start U.P.
Right Start U.P. invites the community to support the development of the Hancock Community Hub through its 2025 GivingTuesday campaign. Located in the former Hancock High School, the Hub is being transformed into an accessible gathering place featuring a gymnasium, community event space, the Rachel Marie Blau Memorial Theater, a conference room and music practice areas. Donations made to Right Start U.P. through the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation will be amplified, helping advance this community-centered project. Community members are encouraged to give, explore the Hub’s progress online and connect with the organization at the GivingTuesday Live event at the Copper Country Mall.

Copper Country Humane Society
The Copper Country Humane Society will spend GivingTuesday at the Copper Country Mall, starting the day with a live appearance on the TV6 morning show at 6:35 a.m. While the organization has no set fundraising goal, all donations will support its spay and neuter fund and pet food pantry. These programs help prevent unwanted litters and ensure local families can keep their pets during difficult times. Community members are encouraged to give and help the Humane Society continue providing vital resources that keep pets safe, healthy and at home.

Superior Connections Recovery Community Organization (RCO)
Superior Connections RCO works to build a culture of long-term recovery by supporting individuals affected by substance use and reducing barriers to care. The organization promotes education, advocacy, harm reduction and destigmatization, and maintains drug-free workplaces and residential homes to ensure safe, supportive environments for participants. Throughout November, Superior Connections is sharing educational content on social media to raise awareness ahead of GivingTuesday. Community members are encouraged to contribute monetary or in-kind donations and to follow, like and share the organization’s updates to support individuals on their path to recovery.

Hospice of the Eastern Upper Peninsula
Hospice of the EUP invites the community to its 44th Annual Madrigal Dinner, presented by the Chippewa Shire Medieval Performers on December 5 and 6 at Kewadin Casinos in Sault Ste. Marie. The event offers a festive start to the holiday season, with dinner at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 5, and 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 6. All proceeds benefit Hospice of the EUP, The Robert and Helen Ball Hospice House.

Marquette Symphony Orchestra
This GivingTuesday, the Marquette Symphony Orchestra invites the community to support its efforts to bring music to local 4th- and 5th-grade students. Donations fund a free concert attended by nearly 1,200 students across the greater Marquette area. With a fundraising goal of $5,000, contributions help expand concert offerings, increase public access to high-quality arts programming and inspire the next generation of musicians and concertgoers. STAR Children’s Bereavement Services
STAR Children’s Bereavement Services offers Wonder Box, a free program for Upper Peninsula children and teens ages 8–17 who have experienced the death of a loved one. Each monthly box, sent November through May, includes grief activities, crafts, and coping tools and other resources to support children in managing their grief. The program is limited to 30 participants per year and costs $20 per box on average. Community members are encouraged to donate to sponsor a child’s Wonder Box journey, covering materials, shipping or the full program, which helps keep this vital support free for every child who needs it.

Baraga County Community Foundation
The Baraga County Community Foundation will celebrate GivingTuesday by highlighting the past year’s events and achievements on its Facebook page. The foundation is encouraging community members to support its 2025 Capital Campaign through a GoFundMe link. In 2025, the foundation plans to award $27,500 in grants and scholarships to support higher education, youth programs, classroom and teacher initiatives, and the immediate needs of the elderly.

Soo Locks Children’s Museum
The Soo Locks Children’s Museum is inviting the community to be a “Behind-the-Scenes Hero” this GivingTuesday. Donations will support efforts to open the museum, which will provide a safe, engaging space for children and families across Chippewa, Luce and Mackinac counties. Our programs will offer family workshops, hands-on exhibits and opportunities for growth that ripple through our local economy and tourism industry. The museum’s immediate goal is to raise $5,000 for a critical fire alarm system, a key step toward opening its doors. Community members can give and follow progress on the museum’s Facebook page or at slcmkids.org. Every contribution brings the museum closer to helping children thrive and families connect. In Chippewa County alone, one in five children lives in poverty and too many face the lasting effects of trauma, abuse and neglect. The Soo Locks Children’s Museum will be a place of healing, learning and connection where play builds confidence, creativity and well-being.

The Women’s Center
The Women’s Center has secured a $21,500 donor match from an anonymous supporter and Cross General Contracting Inc. Community members are encouraged to give during GivingTuesday to take advantage of this match. The center has partnered with the NMU Student Athletic Advisory Committee and the NMU women’s basketball team to reach donors and raise awareness of this opportunity.

Caregiver Incentive Project
The Caregiver Incentive Project will participate in the Pour It Forward Give906-GivingTuesday event at Provisions MQT. The organization will highlight its Caregiver Success Fund and share resources on gait belt safety. Community members are encouraged to learn more, connect with staff and support caregivers in the region.
United Way of Marquette County
United Way of Marquette County is launching a focused GivingTuesday campaign to address food insecurity in the local community. The campaign aims to raise monetary donations that sustain and expand access to nutritious meals to individuals and families in the lead-up to the holiday season. United Way will engage donors through social media posts, press coverage and other outreach, inviting the community to give and ensure that everyone in Marquette County has access to a warm, healthy meal.

Dickinson Iron Community Services Agency
Dickinson Iron Community Services Agency operates the local Meals on Wheels program for homebound seniors. Funding is limited, and the organization relies on community support to serve everyone who qualifies for meal delivery. Donations help eliminate the waiting list and provide nutritious meals, social connection and a friendly visit. Every $10 contribution feeds a senior in need and supports the organization’s mission to “Feed a Senior and Feed a Heart.”

The Zonta Club of Marquette Area works to advance the rights and well-being of girls and women locally and globally. The organization advocates for education and protection in areas including ending child marriage, human trafficking, domestic and intimate partner violence, and promoting pay and gender equality. Zonta also supports climate justice and environmental safety and conservation. Community members are encouraged to support the club’s efforts to empower girls and women and further its mission worldwide.
Literacy Legacy Fund of Michigan
The Literacy Legacy Fund of Michigan will distribute books to small, rural libraries across Upper and Lower Michigan. Libraries can select from a curated collection to add to their shelves, helping expand access to reading materials and support literacy in their communities.

Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy
Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy is prioritizing safety and preparedness for its students this #iGiveCatholic GivingTuesday. Donations will provide updated go-bags and trauma kits for every classroom and office, as well as first-aid kits for field trips. Additional funds will support completion of gym equipment upgrades. Started through the school’s Fall Color Run fundraiser, these upgrades ensuring students have safe, modern equipment for physical education, recess and after-school activities. Community members are encouraged to give to help the academy meet these critical needs.

Alger Marquette Community Action Board / Community Action Alger Marquette
Alger Marquette Community Action Board and Community Action Alger Marquette are highlighting their Home Delivered Meals and Head Start/Early Head Start programs this GivingTuesday. The organizations are seeking financial contributions to help meet community match requirements and continue providing essential services. Every dollar stays in Alger and Marquette counties, supporting homebound seniors and families. Last year, the programs delivered 79,639 meals to seniors and served 290 children. Community members are encouraged to give to provide stability and ensure households have access to the resources they need to thrive during the holidays and beyond.

Partridge Creek Farm
This GivingTuesday, Partridge Creek Farm is raising $5,000 to upgrade the Free Community Grazing Beds at the Ishpeming Middle School Garden, providing fresh food for anyone in need. The Middle School Garden Club will lead care of the beds, gaining skills in teamwork, responsibility and compassion while helping their community. Community members are invited to join Partridge Creek Farm at Congress Pizzas on December 2 from 4–7 p.m., where dine-in and takeout sales will support the campaign. Donations of personal hygiene items, pet food and pantry staples are also welcome for The Salvation Army of Ishpeming. In 2024, PCF’s produce donations fed 289 families and contributions this GivingTuesday will help grow that impact.

U.P. Wildlife Rehabilitation – Keweenaw Group relies on public donations to provide food, medical care and enclosures for injured and orphaned wildlife. Trillium House, Inc.
Trillium House, Inc. will host a blood drive in partnership with UP Health System Marquette on GivingTuesday. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Trillium House’s conference room. Community members are encouraged to participate and help support local blood supply needs. Blood donated stays within the Upper Peninsula to supply its 13 hospitals, ensuring that local communities have access to blood products for surgeries, treatments and trauma care.
Great Lakes Recovery Centers
Supporting hope and healing across the U.P., Great Lakes Recovery Centers provides vital mental health and addiction recovery services. This GivingTuesday, the organization will share stories of recovery and resilience on social media to raise awareness about the need for accessible treatment. Community members are encouraged to donate to help expand counseling services, prevention programs and residential treatment options, ensuring more individuals and families can find recovery and receive the care they deserve.

Spread Goodness Day
In partnership with Range Bank and Goodwill NWUP, Spread Goodness Day is hosting the #GiveNowChallenge this GivingTuesday. For every donation over $10 on the organization’s Facebook fundraiser or website, half will be used to spread goodness in the community, with donors able to suggest how the funds are used. The other half supports the 9th Annual Spread Goodness Day celebration and year-round kindness initiatives. Community members are encouraged to give, follow the campaign live on social media, and help Spread Goodness Day reach its $5,000 goal.

This GivingTuesday, Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter invites the community to help save the lives of homeless animals and support the care of pets in its shelter. Donations directly fund essential needs: $10 covers a shelter pet’s microchip, $25 provides vaccinations to keep an adoptable pet healthy, $50 helps with spaying or neutering, and $100 supports emergency surgery to save a life. Through community support, UPAWS can make an animal’s wish for a loving home come true. The organization aims to raise $5,000 by December 2, 2025, to provide life-saving care for dogs, cats and small animals. Community members are encouraged to give and help make a lasting difference.

Wattsson & Wattsson Jewelers
Wattsson & Wattsson Jewelers is launching its “Rock the Socks” campaign this GivingTuesday in partnership with Marquette Alternative High School. For every pair of new socks donated at the store on Tuesday, December 2, the jeweler will match with an additional pair, up to 200 pairs. Donations must be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., and the sock collection will continue into mid-December. Marquette Alternative High School distributes the socks to community organizations and schools across Marquette County. Community members are encouraged to give a pair of socks and help share warmth this holiday season.
United Way of the Eastern Upper Peninsula
United Way of the Eastern Upper Peninsula will use social media and live broadcasts this GivingTuesday to encourage community giving. The organization will post three videos over Thanksgiving weekend and host live sessions on Monday and Tuesday, alongside a press release highlighting its 300-meal Thanksgiving dinner. United Way addresses a range of community needs, including housing, childcare, food insecurity, transportation, mental health and disaster readiness, inviting donors to support programs that improve overall well-being.

Camp Josh
Camp Josh will participate in GivingTuesday at the Copper Country Mall, hosted by Copper Shores, and will be interviewed on Eagle Radio at 11:10 a.m. by Ed Janisse. The camp is fundraising for a new Learning Center to strengthen its mission of serving individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities, at-risk youth, and local veterans. Start The Cycle
Start The Cycle is a Marquette County cycling program that introduces youth to winter fat tire biking and summer mountain biking, helping them build success, resiliency and a sense of belonging. Mentors guide participants toward achieving personal goals, while connecting families to other community resources. Participation is free for students and their families. This GivingTuesday, the community is invited to support Start The Cycle by contributing to its fundraising efforts for bikes and equipment for the upcoming season, helping the organization continue building community through biking.
